hi! exams are over and i've switched gears to summer break. i've mostly been
working so far, but i have had some interesting things that i thought i'd
share :)
-
my exams went well enough, and i have passed my first year successfully.
the thing that scared me most was a requirement for me to pass nine out of
the twelve courses or risk being banned from uni for three years; thankfully
i passed my ninth. next year is going to be a lot less stressful, i hope!
-
yesterday i went to London, to visit a friend from back home who's there on
a longer trip. together we went to Royal Hospital Chelsea, the final resting
place of Margaret Thatcher. we explained to the staff that my friend is on a
trip to visit as many notable graves as he could on his trip, and they
explained that the only people they let in are her close family… but that
they were going to grant us an exception :D i did not get the chance to piss
on her grave, but the fact they let us in when we weren't supposed to be
there, the fact i stood mere centimetres from her ashes, looking queer as
hell, the fact that we got a special tour of the place from the
groundskeeper, despite being exactly the type that they'd want to keep out —
i think that's protest enough :)
-
me and my lovely fiancée made a
timeline of Israeli television broadcasting, a subject i'm deeply
autistic about. we worked on it for a few days, making sure we got in all
the relevant facts and that all of them were correct, and i'm really proud
of the result. there are so, so many things we left out, but that
i'd be overjoyed to expand on!
-
in tilde.town news, we just
released the ninth edition of our zine! i have a couple of works in there, mostly in the
cookbook section. i'm also in early stages of planning the next TOWN CON…
i've been thinking a lot lately about the theme for next year. the past year i
was concerned with moving out of Israel: now that i've been here for almost
an entire year, i consider that a success. i feel comfortable and welcomed
here. for my third year, i hope to have family; but this upcoming one is
unclear, and i don't want to spend it waiting for it to end. perhaps this is
the year of community: finding it, fostering it, building it. for now, i'm
going to enjoy my summer.

hello! i'm starting to think the promise of twice-monthly updates is hard to
keep now that i have two jobs and university. i might change it if i feel
it's becoming unsustainable. that's not to say i've not done anything
noteworthy, though!
-
been listening to SCRAPYARD by Quadeca a lot recently. i should
listen to Ben's proper albums at some point. i've also been showing a lot of
friends some stuff by the Strokes.
-
this website now has a dark mode! i made it listen to prefers-color-scheme,
which is unfortunate because i do like the light mode better on this
website. oh well.
-
i also revamped our tilde
town homepage the other day, based on some doodles i made while high. i
think it came out very nicely.
-
i also also added some badges to this
website, after not really knowing where to put them for a while. i've been
enjoying making pixel art lately: on the sickos.net forum i've made a bunch of badges and some
userbars as well! the town rack one was made by me and my friend ~dzwdz, based on the
real-life town server rack.
-
exams are Coming Up, and i am Hopeful about them, but they are eating at me
a bit. thankfully after this stressful week i'm gonna be smooth sailing for
pretty much the end of the year, and some nice and exciting things are on
the horizon :)

hello! it's been a bit. i've been very busy this past month and a half
and i wanted to wait until a calmer time before enumerating everything i've
done!
-
i'm getting better at meeting new people! late last year i was invited to
Christmas dinner at a new friend's place, and i had a grand old time meeting
even newer friends. last saturday i met up with some townies and we ate at a cute
anarchist café where i exchanged contacts with a few nice folks there. i'm
slowly getting the hang of this!
-
i wrote a piece about how Israel is making
me feel right now. i was told that it's nice but that it's not clear who
this is for, and that's because it's not really for anyone who isn't already
at the same level of exasperation about all of this as me. a lot of similar
drafts have not gone anywhere but at least this one is vaguely pointed.
-
i was the number one listener to Hipercandombe by La Máquina
last year on last.fm, and also to Move by Hadag Nahash :)
-
i passed most of my exams! i'm finally ahead of the scary university
requirements, and i'll be looking into moving into a place that isn't as out
of the way or as cramped as my current dorm.
-
i started a small football
gemlog in the last few weeks of the 2025 regular season, where i cover
some of the games that made me excited. now that the season's over, i'll
have to find some new obsession…
i think that's all for now. life is picking up momentum and i'm doing okay.
