hi! it feels like it's been longer since the last time i made an update here. better than losing track of time the other way around, at least.

• showed a couple of friends the legendary album The Sixteenth Lamb (1978) last week. every time i come back to it i am blown away. i close my eyes and imagine myself sitting on the floor of my former former former former former former former former home, after sundown, listening to this album on our old CD player, and feeling a sense of quiet. there's not much sense recommending it because if you don't know hebrew you'll get nothing from it without a guided listening, and if you do know hebrew you've already listened to it. this time around a quote stuck with me:

  כבר מאוחר ומחר נקום ונראה
  איך שמגיע היום בסוף כל לילה

• as of this week i have a job! i'm excited to lose money a bit more slowly for a while. i might have another gig coming up, and as always i am available for hire.
• this quarter is starting off good, i think? i'm kind of coasting by, constantly feeling behind while continuing to stay on top of things without really paying attention. i think this time around there was no ramp-up like the start of the year, and i already feel like it's the middle of the quarter. thankfully i've got time to readjust.
• this quarter i am also studying dutch! the course aims for CEFR A1 level by the end of the semester, which is huge if true. so far i've been having a blast, and i think the teacher likes me and my odd questions with my prior linguistic knowledge.
